I have been working and playing on the web since back in 1995 with my first computer, a Compaq 386, with the "lightning fast" 56k modem, that new fangled windows 95 OS, and my massive 40MB hard drive and omg 16MB of RAM! .....my how times have changed.

Forums are available on many hosting companies and offer you a chance to interact with support personnel as well as other clients of the host.

Many companies offer a Support Center or Help Desk where you can log in and open a "ticket" and state the problem you are having. You will be given some sort of reference number which will be used for you to access answers to your question when you log back into the Desk or Center.

There are usually a few different ways to get help from your hosting provider. Some will better than others.

Below I have listed some of the most common means of getting help and or support from your hosting provider.

Telephone support is becoming less common in the online world today. Many companies today seem to prefer to keep their support to email and Help Desk submissions. If your host offers phone support consider yourself lucky as this method is slowly being removed it seems from the list of available contact methods.

The most popular way to get in contact with most hosting companies is email support. A good host will usually get back to you within an hour or so on weekdays although it can be longer on weekends.
